Partial Hospitalization, sometimes called "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of alcohol and drug treatment facility which works to deal with substance abuse problems and psychological problems which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the person in treatment takes part in a number of rehabilitation services and approaches during the day and then leaves in the night time. This is done anywhere from five to seven days a week, all dependent on the seriousness of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for drug or alcohol addicted people in El Lago who are unable to cover the costs of long-term inpatient treatment, or for those who are not able to be apart from their home for extended periods of time. While in Day Treatment, people participate in typical treatment services for alcohol or drug addiction issues while also overcoming mental health disorders which could keep them from remaining abstinent after rehabilitation is done.
