Treating men and women who are addicted and dependent to drugs and have found their way into the criminal justice system has proven effective in eliminating future drug related criminal offenses by those who do become rehabilitated. For criminal justice clients in Trinidad who do agree to take part in treatment in drug rehabilitation programs, even against one's will as is often court ordered, these individuals have a significantly better shot of handling the root of the problem so that they can remain abstinent and off of the streets drug related criminal activity. The costs to the criminal justice system having to do with these drug related offenses is also impacted positively when criminal justice clients turn out to be rehabilitated in drug treatment facilities in Trinidad in lieu of jail time or other harsh punishment.
